DAY 1 Fly to Sydney and Board the Columbus

Today, fly into Sydney, where you will be personally met at the airport by a HolidayMax representative and transferred from the airport to spectacular Sydney Harbour. Board Columbus and settle into your cabin before exploring the range of on board facilities on this luxurious cruise ship. DAY 2 – 3 At Sea

DAY 4 Explore the Whitsundays (Airlie Beach)

Airlie Beach is picture-postcard-perfect with its backdrop of gently sloping verdant hills, complimented by the crystal clear azure ocean and the world famous Great Barrier Reef. It feels as tropical as staying on an island, but with the added conveniences of a modern mainland township. This compact regional centre is easy to explore. The fabulous man-made lagoon with its turquoise waters, is the ideal place to take a refreshing swim to escape the warmth of the sun's golden rays. Unspoiled and secluded beaches will transport you to your very own role in 'Castaway'. DAY 5 At Sea

Leaving the breathtaking beauty of the Whitsundays behind you, cruise north along the iconic Great Barrier Reef, while taking in the beautiful views of the Coral Sea in all its splendour. Join the fitness team on the Sun Deck for a jog or walk or even a game of deck chess. Relax by the pool with a good book and a refreshing cocktail if you prefer something more laid back. DAY 6 Explore Cairns (Yorkeys Knob)

North of Cairns, Yorkeys Knob is a coastal suburb and part of Cairns Northern suburbs. The laid back and relaxed atmosphere, endless blue skies, golden beaches and palm trees is synonymous with tropical north Queensland. The region is set against a backdrop of World Heritage Rain Forests, overlooking the natural wonder of the Great Barrier Reef.

Madang, located on the north-eastern coat of Papa New Gunea and just shy of the equator, is a land of contrasting beauty. The perfect blue waters are a diver’s paradise, with amazing clarity and visibility.

DAY 17 Explore Yokohama (Japan)

Japans second largest city is a bustling city of 3.7 million and is located just half an hour south of its big sister city Tokyo. Devasted by the allied airstrikes during World War II, Yokohama rebuilt and grew rapidly into the modern, cosmopolitan city it is today. The many parks and ornate botanical gardens and the well preserved Japanese residences of Sankei-en Garden emanates a sense of relaxation and long held tradition amidst the energy and bright lights of a modern city. The word Yokohama means “horizontal beach”, from the horizontal sandbar the original fishing village once stood on. 

Arrive into Yokohama at 7am for a full day in Japan setting sail again at 7pm. You can spend a memorable day exploring Yokohama or perhaps take an optional tour to Mount Fuji & Hakone National Park or Tokyo, Kyoto and Kagoshima

DAY 18 At Sea

Making your way to the seaside city of Kagoshima, take some time to relax and reset after your visit to the bustling city of Yokohama. Cruising the southern coast of Japan, meet up with new friends for a meal at one of the specialty restaurants and share your experiences so far or enjoy some quiet time in the library.

DAY 19 Explore Kagoshima (Japan)

On the banks of Kagoshima Bay, the seaside city of Kagoshima sits in the shadows of an active volcano only a short 4km across the bay. Sakurajima stands at 1117 metres tall, on a daily basis it emits smoke and has minor eruptions. In spite of this, Kagoshima is a thriving city full of character, Japanese tradition, history and natural beauty, affectionately known as the “Naples of the Eastern world” for its many similarities to the Italian city and has been voted Japans friendliest city. Ornate gardens and traditional architecture highlight Kagoshima’s rich culture and long held traditions.

Arrive into Kagoshima at 7am for a full day in Japan setting sail again at 8pm. Perhaps take an optional tour to experience Japanese tradition Chiran Samurai Houses & Peace Museum or bravely venture to Sakurajima.

DAY 20 – 21 At Sea

As you set sail leaving Kagoshima, take in the beauty and contrasting landscape. The towering, active volcano reaches high into the clouds and is an iconic symbol of Kagoshima and a perfect backdrop for a photograph. Spend the next couple of days onboard, cruising the East China Sea and Yellow Sea towards the next port of call, Beijing, China.

DAY 22 Explore Beijing (Tianjin, China)

At the Foot of the Yanshan Mountain, in the north east of China, Beijing is a mega city with a population of 21.5 million people. Beijing's architecture is an interesting mix of European influence, traditional Chinese design and ultra modern skyscrapers. The city is constantly evolving while holding on to its strong traditional values and rich heritage. UNESCO has recognized 6 heritage sites such as the Forbidden City and Chinese Imperial Palace. Beijing's future aspirations is to evolve into an eco-friendly city.

Arrive into Tianjin at 6am for a full day in China setting sail again at 5pm. You can spend a fantastic day exploring Tianjin or perhaps take an optional tour to see The Great Wall & Beijing Sights or board a bullet train to the Forbidden City.

DAY 23 - 24 At Sea

Spend the next couple of days traversing the Chinese coast between Tianjin and Shanghai. The perfect mix of modern architecture and Chinese tradition and culture, China’s history is measured not in centuries, but in millennia. Take some time to reflect on your journey so far with new friends, or unwind in the many leisure facilities on board, perhaps learn a new craft in the Crafters Studio.

DAY 25 Explore Shanghai (China)

On the banks of the Yangtze River, Shanghai is a mega city home to 24 million people and a major global financial centre. It has earned the nickname “Oriental Paris” as it is a shopping paradise and has everything – cuisine, culture, natural beauty and intrigue. DAY 26 – 27 At Sea

DAY 28 Explore Hong Kong

With the limitations of space as an island, Hong Kong’s built upwards instead of outwards to grow to a city with a population of 7.4 million people, boasting more than 7600 skyscrapers. The city has contrasting mix of European colonial history and heritage of ancient Chinese roots, to form the modern metropolis it is today, and lives by the saying “Constantly looking to the future while always honouring its past.” The city has a vibrant atmosphere with a rich and diverse cultural scene.

Arrive into Hong Kong at 7am for a full day setting sail again at 8pm. You can spend an exciting day exploring the city or perhaps join an optional tour to Lantau & Sacred Po Lin Monastery or go hiking on Dragon’s Back.

DAY 30 Explore Ha Long Bay (Vietnam)

Ha Long Bay, in the Gulf of Tonkin in Vietnams northeast is most known for the emerald green waters and thousands of limestone pillars. Ha Long, meaning “descending dragon”, is a UNESCO World Heritage Listed area, consisting of around 1600 islands and inlets, most of which are uninhabited. The overwhelming beauty inspires geologists, artists, painters, scientists and tourists alike. See iconic traditional style junk boats sail the waterways, navigating the limestone pinnacles.

Arrive into Ha Long Bay at 7am for a full day in Vietnam setting sail again at 11pm. You can spend an incredible day exploring Ha Long Nay or perhaps join an optional tour to and spend the day on a traditional junk cruise or visit the Zen Monastery & Halong Countryside.

DAY 31 – 32 At Sea

DAY 33 Explore Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My, Vietnam)

As Vietnams business and financial hub, Ho Chi Minh City today has undergone an amazing transformation in the 30 years since the devastating Vietnam War. This vibrant city combines culture, French colonial architecture, modern skyscrapers as well as ornate temples and pagodas. Roof-top bars have popped up all around the city providing a great atmosphere with amazing views and streets are lined with food stalls offering French, Chinese and local cuisine.

Arrive into Phu My at 6am for a full day in Vietnam setting sail again at 11pm. You can spend an incredible day seeing Ho Chi Minh City or perhaps join an optional tour to see the Chu Chi Tunnels or cruise the Meekong Delta.

DAY 34 At Sea

DAY 35 Explore Sihanoukville (Cambodia)

Sihanoukville, on the Gulf of Thailand, is Cambodia’s only deep water port. With palm fringed beaches and laid-back tropical atmosphere, this seaside resort has some of southeast Asia’s most pristine beaches. Sihanoukville is a relatively new town compared to most Cambodian provinces. Looking over the town is the Buddhist temple Wat Leu, set high atop a hill, surrounded by forest and with sweeping views over the town and beyond. Venture outside of the town hub, you will find the mangrove jungles Ream National Park, an ecosystem largely untouched and considered the crown jewel of Cambodia’s attractions.

Arrive into Sihanoukville at 7am for a full day in Cambodia setting sail again at 6pm. Join one of the optional experiences to Ream National Park or visit the highlights of Sihanoukville.

DAY 36 Explore Bangkok (Laem Chabang, Thailand)
