The Bahamas is paradise distilled; a heavenly collection of over 700 postcard perfect white sand islands and 2400 stunning palm-fringed cays, where the water is mesmerizingly clear and a panorama of dazzling blue hues awaits. For a hit of urban excitement, the capital of Nassau will oblige; a funky make-a-buck metropolis whose gritty ambiance, duty-free shopping and pastel coloured colonial architecture offer an alluring contrast to the pristine bays and lush forests surrounding it. The Bahamas has something for everyone, even the opportunity to ocean swim with famous wild pigs.

Pirate history runs deep in Nassau, it once sheltered more than 1,000 pirates outnumbering the hundred inhabitants of the town. Today this modern vibrant town is the place for a dose of excitement, with glamourous resorts, lush golf courses, exquisite shopping, cosmopolitan restaurants, incredible natural beauty and some rum-happy locals. Maybe sink your toes in the Bahamian sand and plunge into the warm, multi-hued azure waters which stretch as far as the eye can see at Cable Beach or Paradise Beach. DAY 15 Explore Jamaica (Ocho Ríos)

Today we immerse ourselves in the magic of Jamaica’s iconic bright colours, soulful rhythms, unique flavors, endless creativity and powerful beauty. Birthplace of Usain Bolt, Bob Marley and Reggae music itself, Jamaica grooves to its own soundtrack; its lush rainforest clad mountains, verdant banana groves, magnificent waterfalls and pristine palm fringed coastline imbued with the vivacious colour and culture of its larger-than-life inhabitants. Spectacular coral reefs dazzle beneath crystalline waters, British colonial architecture abounds and island life unfolds at a leisurely rhythmic pace.

Perhaps journey inland to Bob Marley’s Nine Mile - a nearby mountaintop village to see his birthplace, the Bob Marley Museum and a small Ethiopian-style church housing the marble mausoleum – a place fundamental to Reggae. Maybe learn about the colourful Rastafari culture, its spirituality and legendary dreadlocks. Pristine rainforest encircles Ocho Ríos, where a seemingly endless series of limestone waterfalls sparkle amidst the greenery, including the magnificent Dunn’s River Falls; a 180m terraced cascade interspersed with lagoon pools. Described as a living and growing phenomenon, and national treasure, the falls continuously regenerates itself from deposits of travertine rock as it flows over the falls. It’s easy to see why scenes from the “Dr. No” and “Live and Let Die” James Bond movies were filmed in and around Ocho Rios (interestingly, Ian Fleming created 007 and wrote all 14 of the James Bond books nearby at Oracabessa Bay). Maybe spend your day discovering your inner adventurer – with ziplining, caving, bamboo rafting, scuba diving and river tubing offering you the chance to explore the wild side of Jamaica. DAY 16 Explore Cayman Islands (George Town)

The Cayman Islands are distinctly international with a glitzy small capital surrounded by lush forests, incredible natural wonders and pristine beaches. Flush with beach resorts and Caribbean sunshine, the Cayman Islands are surprisingly cosmopolitan, with influences from around the world underpinned by a rich and thriving local culture. From lush mangrove forests and mysterious caves and shipwrecks to idyllic beaches and awe-inspiring coral reefs, the warm hospitality and mellow island vibes here are infectious. George Town is the luxurious playground of the rich and famous - cocktails flow, exquisite restaurants abound and shopping is a necessity in this sophisticated duty-free shopping mecca and global financial hub - all bathed in azure blue Caribbean skies.

Wildlife conservation is also at the core of Grand Cayman’s offerings – perhaps head to the North Sound where you can come face to face with a neighbourhood of stingrays (so big, they call it a city) to swim, feed and interact with these gracious creatures. Maybe discover the Cayman Turtle Centre, encounter the green turtles that return every year to lay their eggs on the beaches. George Town’s eclectic collection of buildings and districts rewards those that explore it. DAY 17 Explore Mexico (Cozumel and Playa del Carmen)

Welcome to Mexico! Home of sombreros, tequila, lime drizzled and habanero spiced tacos, Frida Kahlo paintings and hammocks strung up between palm trees on a deserted beach - Mexico is all this and so much more. Cozumel is Mexico's spirited Caribbean Island jewel – once a refuge for pirates – today a coral filled snorkeling and diving mecca poised amidst the sparkling cerulean waters off the coast of Quintana Roo. Discover Mayan ruins nestled in lush jungle, amazing beaches, authentic Mexican food and dramatic lagoons with underwater caverns, dolphins and sea turtles. The nearby mainland town of Playa del Carmen is one of the most colourful and vibrant destinations in Mexico.

Known to the Maya as "Ah-cuzamil" (land of the swallows), Cozumel was an important place of pilgrimage for worshippers of the sun gods. Perhaps visit San Gervasio - an intriguing Maya site that survived the fall of Chichén Itzá. Maybe explore Punta Sur - home to a diversity of beaches, reefs, and lagoons and a forested area with walking trails - see the historic lighthouse, the Celarain with its adjoining nautical museum and an ancient Mayan temple. Maybe discover Laguna Chankanaab & the National Marine Park where you can marvel at a sea lion show, partake in a dolphin swim experience, and see the crocodile exhibition. Cozumel is the perfect location to spend your day in the depths of the Caribbean Sea discovering spectacular diving sites while witnessing extraordinary exotic marine species. Playa del Carmen is one of the Mexican Riviera's trendiest spots, popular with discerning Europeans and is a short ferry ride away. Perhaps indulge in its vibrancy or stretch out on the sparkling beaches, swim through an underworld paradise in one of the many caves, swim in the breathtaking cenotes, see the beautiful lavender sea fans or visit the Mayan treasures of Tulum.
