DAY 3 Kakadu Luxury Day Tour and Cruise

This morning skirt Francis Bay on Darwin Harbour, head out on Tiger Brennan Drive and see Berrimah Naval Defence base, Darwin suburb of Palmerston, spot for massive road-trains, head east on the Arnhem Highway, pass through Humpty Doo, cross the Marrakai Wetlands and Adelaide River. See the top end outback bush, eucalypts, palms and termite mounds. At Kakadu National Park on the South Alligator River, take a short guided walk to Nourlangie Rock to see ancient Aboriginal rock art (optional but included in the price), enjoy a tropical buffet lunch (cold meats, salad and fruit), take a 1.5 hour guided cruise on Yellow Water Billabong, spotting for crocodiles, brolgas, magpie geese and kites. DAY 5 Darwin to Katherine

The glistening jewel in the crown of Northern Territory's Katherine region is Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) National Park, the landscape is a wonderland of rugged sandstone cliffs, cascading waterfalls and dense rainforest, a cruise along the spectacular Katherine Gorge offers sensational views of the gorge's towering sandstone walls.

Today you will visit the Adelaide River War Cemetery before a Katherine Gorge Cruise on your way to your accommodation for the night in Katherine.

Following breakfast, travel south along the Stuart Highway to the Adelaide River War Cemetery. Continue through Katherine to Nitmiluk National Park and enjoy a cruise in the gorge while looking out for wildlife and learn about the history and culture of the Jawoyn people, the Traditional Owners of the land. Return to the Knotts Crossing Resort for dinner and the night.

DAY 6 Katherine to Kununurra

The vibrant town of Kununurra lies on the eastern edge of the vast and beautiful Kimberley, the region is blessed with a wealth of incredible natural beauty, towering gorges, cascading waterfalls, inviting rock pools, rivers and creeks, amazing flora and abundant wildlife, attractions include boat cruises, fishing, Aboriginal art and hiking.

Drive from Katherine to Kununurra, stopping at the Durack Homestead Museum before cruising down the Ord River on your way to Kununurra for two nights.

DAY 7 Explore Kununurra

Set on the eastern edge of the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia, Kununurra is a small and busy town surrounded by wonderful natural attractions and a ruggedly beautiful landscape, attractions include Lake Argyle, Lake Kununurra, Diversion Dam, Celebrity Tree Park and the lookout Kelly's Knob which offers sensational views.

After breakfast take a tour of Kununurra town today. Your tour includes a visit to Mirima National Park, which is of great cultural significance to the Miriwoong people and is also home to a large variety of wildlife. Later, view the town from Kelly’s Knob lookout before enjoying a free afternoon to relax. This evening enjoy a privately hosted dinner at the Kununurra Sandalwood Factory. Enjoy a presentation by a Sandalwood expert and learn about this intriguing industry.

DAY 8 Kununurra to El Questro

The Gibb River Road offers a chance to embark on one of Australia's last true outback adventures, it takes you through 660 km of simply sensational typically Australian surrounds, towering ochre gorges and escarpments, beautiful cascades, inviting plunge pools, majestic rivers, spectacular ranges and vast bushland savannahs.

After breakfast, we travel to the Hoochery Distillery, the only rum distillery in Western Australia. Enjoy morning tea at the distillery, famous for its Ord River Rum Cake. Continue on to Parry Lagoons Nature Reserve (weather permitting) to variety of birdlife in this region. Visit Marglu Billabong, an important feeding and breeding area for waterbirds. Continue down the Gibb River Road to El Questro Wilderness Park for dinner and two nights at Emma Gorge Resort in your safari style tented cabins.

DAY 9 Explore El Questro

El Questro is situated in Western Australia's beautiful and remote Kimberley region, this vast homestead and wilderness park is over one million acres in size and is largely unexplored making it one of Australia's last frontiers, experiences on offer here include barramundi fishing, horse trekking and scenic helicopter flights.

Enjoy breakfast on the resort’s large verandah before travelling across the Pentecost River for a cruise along the Chamberlain Gorge. Spend some time at the station before heading back to Emma Gorge Resort. Enjoy a free afternoon before dinner and drinks at the resort with local entertainment.

DAY 10 Explore Halls Creek

The Argyle Diamond Mine in Western Australia's Kimberley region is the world's largest single producer of diamonds, the mine has been in operation since 1983 and has produced more than 800 million carats of rough diamonds, it is one of the most technologically developed mines in the world and is renowned for its sensational pink diamonds.

Visit the Argyle Diamond Mine, the world’s largest producer of natural coloured diamonds. Continue to Halls Creek, rich in Aboriginal and European history and culture and on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert for the night.

After breakfast, travel to the Argyle Diamond Mine at the traditional Barramundi Dreaming site at Barramundi Gap. Join a local Indigenous Guide for a behind the scenes look at the diamond mining process and the cultural significance of the site. Continue to Halls Creek for the night at the Kimberley Hotel.

DAY 11 Halls Creek to Fitzroy Crossing

The magnificent Geikie Gorge National Park is located in the vast and remote Kimberley region of Western Australia, the park is one of the most accessible in the Kimberley and is home to Geikie Gorge, part of an ancient barrier reef that has been eroded by the mighty Fitzroy River and has formed a spectacular gorge that towers over the water.

Travel through the Kimberley to the township of Fitzroy Crossing for the night. Visit the Yiyili Indigenous Community and enjoy a cruise through Geikie Gorge formed by the Fitzroy River.

After breakfast, travel through the Kimberley towards Fitzroy Crossing. Stop at the Yiyili Indigenous Community in Louisa Downs. Meet some of the residents at Laari Gallery, an art gallery in the community. After lunch, cruise down Geikie Gorge in the Napier Range. After dinner retire to the Fitzroy River Lodge for your overnight accommodation.

DAY 12 Fitzroy Crossing to Broome

Depart for Broome after breakfast and stop at Derby to see the famous Boab Prison Tree said to have been used as overnight holding cell for indigenous Australians on their way to Derby for sentencing. After breakfast this morning, view Kalbarri National Park’s cliffs and gorges from Red Bluff Lookout and Hawks Head Lookout. The National Park is in bloom during the wildflower season with a variety of wildflowers. Continue to Geraldton and the HMAS Sydney Memorial for the night at the Mantra Geraldton.

DAY 23 Geraldton to Perth
