Today is a flexi-free day. You have a final day to explore this remarkable city as you wish.

We farewell Berlin heading for Dresden in Saxony. Today we leave the Czech Republic and head to Slovakia, to experience its capital Bratislava. We take a tour of this medieval and Gothic city, including a visit to famous Bratislava Castle, high on the hill. Charm abounds in this intriguing city, set on the banks of the Danube River. The alluring pedestrian old town is a mosaic of winding cobbled streets adorned with medieval and gothic churches, baroque palaces and quirky cafes.

We continue to Austria and its capital Vienna. Austria is glorious alpine scenery and monumental Habsburg architecture; this is the land of Schubert and Mozart, where flower freckled meadows grace the hilltops and glacial lakes sparkle like gemstones in the summer sun.

Few cities can show off such cultural and historical splendour and maintain a profile as an exciting, modern city, but Vienna does it well. Baroque streetscapes and imperial palaces set the stage for Vienna's artistic and musical masterpieces. We continue south leaving Austria for Slovenia and it’s leafy, elegant capital of Ljubljana. Experience a special walking tour of this little gem of a city. Despite its small size, you’ll be enchanted by its beauty, which features a wealth of cultures, activities and sights. Ljubljana Castle overlooks the city and dates back to the 16th Century. Its old town traces the leafy banks and emerald green waters of the winding Ljubljanica River. The streets are adorned with the stunning architecture of Jože Plecnik, his beautiful lamp posts and bridges peppering the pedestrian old town where quaint café terraces line the riverbank.

Next is Venice, a city built on more than 100 small islands that are lined with splendid Renaissance and Gothic palace. It has no roads, just canals like the famous Grand Canal. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s famous red roofs.

DAY 18 Tuscany to French Riviera

Continue through the Tuscan countryside made famous by numerous great painters, to Pisa. This compelling small city is best known for an architectural venture gone very wrong. The leaning tower is one of the most memorable sights in Europe and one of the seven medieval wonders of the world.

We continue to France and to one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world – the French Riviera – or Côte d'Azur. Experience one of the world’s most famous and beautiful coastlines, packed with exclusive towns, gorgeous beaches, luxury hotels, designer bars and splendid belle époque villas. From the see-and-be-seen beaches and boardwalks of Cannes and Monaco to the lavender fields of Grasse and the medieval villages of Èze, there's a whole host of places that impress.

Our destination, Nice, has a stunning Mediterranean beachfront location, it’s full of old-world opulence, year-round sunshine and vibrant street life. This glistening gem of the French Rivera has an ambiance and history all its own, a charismatic hybrid of French and Italian culture with Portofino style ochre-hued buildings and fresh pasta stores set deliciously on every corner.

DAY 19 Explore French Riviera & Monaco

This morning enjoy free time to explore this favoured playground of celebrities and the well-heeled. Nice has been a magnet for famous visitors since the 1700s. Nothing compares to the simple joy of a balmy beach morning interspersed with a spot of people-watching astride the Promenade des Anglais' famous blue chairs.

This afternoon we journey along the Mediterranean coast to the Principality of Monaco (the world’s second-smallest country after Vatican City). The spectacular home of the Formula One Grand Prix street race has been a magnet for high-rollers and hedonists since the early 20th century. A sun-drenched sovereign microstate sparkling on the banks of the Mediterranean amid the glowing French Riviera, Monaco’s towering skyscrapers and rows of lavish properties are squeezed onto a steep and dramatically beautiful peninsula no larger than London’s Hyde Park. Watch out for the rich and famous, where the harbour shimmers with mega yachts and a surprisingly charming old town sits atop a rocky seaside ridge.

We'll learn about intoxicating fragrances at a local perfumery enroute. In Monaco, we visit the residence of the Prince of Monaco, take in the sweeping vistas from a viewpoint overlooking the spectacular harbour and visit the legendary Casino de Monte-Carlo. Enjoy some free time in Monaco.

DAY 20 French Riviera to Barcelona (Spain)

We continue along the French Riviera past Montpellier to the world heritage protected Arles in the Camargue region, with its colourful houses and the 90AD Roman Amphitheatre. Once a provincial capital of ancient Rome, Arles is well known as the inspiration for 200 of Van Gogh canvas paintings, many of which are very recognisable and displayed in the Fondation Vincent Van Gogh. Walk in the footsteps of ancient Romans amidst the narrow streets and shady squares of enchanting Arles. Nestled into a romantic bend along the Rhône River amidst the lyrical landscapes of Provence, sun-baked stone houses and magnificent Roman treasures line every charming alleyway.

We journey west along the Mediterranean coast into Spain’s Catalonia region. Spain is a masterpiece of towering mountain ranges, sophisticated cities, astonishing architecture and golden Mediterranean beaches. Home to Rioja wine, Catalan cava and acorn-fed jamón ibérico, Spain’s diversity and obsession with food and wine will stir your soul.

In Barcelona we experience a thrilling tour of this enchanting beach city with remarkable architecture and a boundless cultural scene. See Sagrada Familia Cathedral and Gaudi's eclectic architecture. Experience La Ramblas - a walkway full of stalls, cafes, entertainers and life.

We enjoy a delicious Spanish dinner in the evening, perhaps head to the heart of the city to absorb the vibrant culture.

Choose how you’d like to experience Barcelona today. It’s easy to see why visitors fall in love with this enchanting beach city filled with remarkable architecture and a boundless cultural scene. Recognised as one of the most attractive cities in Europe, the Catalan capital has a cosmopolitan international vibe. There is so much to do and see - museums, the 'Old Town', art galleries, sun-drenched beaches, incredible cafes and some of the best shopping in Europe. The renewed Park Guell features the spectacular quirky design typical of Anton Gaudi all with panoramic city views.

Barcelona's architectural treasures span 2000-plus years, but many of its more modern additions are its most famous. The Modernisme movement and Antoni Gaudí’s has greatly influenced the face of Barcelona architecture. Barcelona’s bright light and mood has also long inspired artists, including Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró (with major museums here devoted to their works).

You’ll savour mealtime. The Catalan region has a long and celebrated tradition of cooking with simple, flavourful ingredients like seafood and jamón (cured ham) which are transformed into remarkable delicacies often served in spectacular settings. You could have an immersive visit to the Picasso Museum, Las Ramblas, Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, Palo Market Fest, Casa Milà, Park Güell, Barcelona City History Museum, Montjuïc, Fundació Joan Miró, Palau de la Música Catalana, Tibidabo or Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site. DAY 23 Barcelona to Pont du Gard to Avignon (France)

Say adiós to Barcelona today as we travel to France through the remarkable countryside to the historic Pont du Gard – an impressive 2,000 year old aqueduct built by hand with ancient tools. It has multiple levels and spans 300 metres, it’s truly magnificent.

We journey through the splendid Provence region. Provence seems to sum up everything enviable about the French lifestyle: fantastic food, hilltop villages, legendary wines, bustling markets and a balmy climate. Provence is renowned for its stunning variety of landscapes from fields of lavender, ancient olive groves, clifftop roads, maquis-cloaked hills to snow-tipped mountains. The flavours of Provence are irresistible, where cuisine has truly become an all-consuming passion.

We arrive at Avignon - 'The City of Popes' on the beautiful Rhône River. It has a long history, stunning architecture and great religious significance as the home of the Pope; centre of the Roman Catholic world for 70 years during the early 1300s. Avignon has an impressive legacy of ecclesiastical architecture, most notably the Palais des Papes. Experience a walking tour through this intriguing ancient city to see the Palais des Papes, old Avignon town walls, Notre-Dame des Doms and Pont d’Avignon.

DAY 24 Avignon to Geneva (Switzerland) to the Swiss Alps

We continue through the beautiful French countryside, taking a scenic drive across into Switzerland and to Geneva, renowned for its lakeside sophistication. Geneva is surrounded by the Alps and Jura mountains, with dramatic views of towering Mont Blanc and set on the splendid Lake Geneva (Lac Léman). It’s a global hub for diplomacy and banking, home to the Red Cross and European Headquarters of the UN and pleasantly juxtaposed against an artistic and activist driven counterculture that unites medieval charm with new-wave grit.

This afternoon, journey through the spectacular Swiss Alps meandering through the mountains, for our stay in a picture-postcard mountain village right in the heart of the Jungfrau region. Switzerland’s soaring mountains and dazzling alpine lakes will make the heart race, quieted soon after by the serene rural beauty of pastured valleys and folkloric villages. The Jungfrau World Heritage site contains Europe's largest glacier and is understandably one of the most popular regions of the Alps. DAY 25 Explore the Swiss Alps

Choose how you’d like to experience the majesty of the Swiss Alps with a selection of activities on offer. Highly recommended is the incredible mountain train journey to Jungfraujoch, the highest train station in Europe - it’s simply breath-taking all the way up. If the journey to the top wasn’t enough, at 3.5km above sea level, the destination is considered ‘the top of Europe’, with majestic vistas of ice, snow and rock that are truly breathtaking. DAY 26 Swiss Alps to Liechtenstein to Munich (Germany)

This morning we farewell Switzerland and head into the Principality of Liechtenstein, one of the world's tiniest and richest countries. It’s like a fairy-tale country set among mountain ranges that rise steep and rugged above the Rhine. See dramatic Vaduz Castle, the official residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein.

This afternoon continue to Germany and the Bavarian city of Munich to enjoy a fascinating escorted walking tour. A city of apparent stark contrasts between modern and traditional, where tall beer tankards and Lederhosen shorts sit side by side with high-tech cars and edgy art. Munich has a wealth of cultural hot-spots, smart sophistication and a certain charm that you’ll find irresistible.

DAY 27 Bavaria to Rhine Valley

Today we travel through Germany to the Rhine Valley famous for its medieval castles perched high above the river and steep fields of wine-producing grapes. The Rhine Valley’s soaring clifftop fortresses and near vertical terraced vineyards have inspired fables, fairy tales, paintings and poetry for centuries. Float atop the mythical waters of the Rhine River as you meander your way amidst some of Germany’s most evocative landscapes; medieval castles and quaint half-timbered villages with their idyllic gothic church steeples materialising around every riverbend.

Relax on board a splendid Rhine riverboat as we cruise past the most concentrated stretch of castles in all of Europe, expansive vineyards, charming medieval towns and lofty cliffs. Learn the curious story of the castles, most built by a mafia of local robber barons, knights and princes.

We say goodbye to Germany and travel to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, ranking among the world's top nations for both wealth and wine consumption. The fairy-tale capital, Luxembourg City, is perched on a dramatic clifftop and home to the Grand Ducal Palace. See the remarkable medieval castles on Luxembourg’s rolling forested hills complimented by strings of quaint villages.

This afternoon we journey though the French countryside to the ‘City of Love’ Paris.
