Day 3 Kakadu National Park

Immerse yourself in the captivating wonders of Kakadu, a majestic World Heritage protected site in the heart of the Northern Territory wilderness. Prepare to be spellbound as you encounter a tapestry of diverse landscapes, from lush wetlands to rugged escarpments, unveiling an extraordinary abundance of wildlife thriving in harmony. Day 4 Jumping Crocodiles

Enjoy some free-time this morning to explore Darwin before you set off for an exciting afternoon.

Travel inland to cruise a section of the Adelaide River and witness saltwater crocodiles close up as they leap out of the water to snatch their food. The Adelaide River starts in Litchfield National Park and is well known for its high concentration of saltwater crocodiles, along with other wildlife including white-bellied sea eagles, whistling kites, freshwater crocodiles, bull sharks and black flying-fox. An excellent opportunity to observe these primeval creatures as you cruise along the Adelaide River.

Today you will cruise the Adelaide River in crocodile infested waters, watch as your guide entices massive wild saltwater crocodiles to jump and snatch their food (witnessing crocodiles up close). Experience the ultimate thrill as these magnificent creatures leap out of the water with sheer power and grace - creating a profound sense of excitement and awe that will stay with you forever.

Day 5 Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge

Today, experience the epic beauty and awe inspiring grandeur of the Nitmiluk National Park. Your friendly driver will pick you up in a comfortable air-conditioned luxury coach before sharing experiences, fascinating facts and enchanting stories in the onboard full commentary throughout the day. Head south from Darwin on the renowned Stuart Highway through the territory’s tropics - see endless outback scrub and World War II airstrips. Take a break at Adelaide River, visit Adelaide River War Cemetery (with memorial of the Darwin air raids in the 1940's) and spot for wallabies. Travel the western side of Nitmiluk National Park to the spectacular Edith (Leliyn) Falls in the heart of this untamed wilderness. Be enveloped by the serenity as Edith Falls cascades down with breathtaking grace - creating a sanctuary of tranquillity with emerald pools and the gentle whispers of nature (perhaps take a swim in the waterhole below the falls or relax on the grassy banks).

Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park. Carved through ancient sandstone by the rhythmic dance of the Katherine River, Nitmiluk Gorge stands as a majestic testament to nature's enduring power. Take a two hour guided tour and scenic cruise through the Gorge looking for freshwater crocodiles on the banks and marvelling at the stark, sheer, richly coloured escarpments of the Nitmiluk Gorge canyon. Tour through the outback township of Katherine (third largest in the Territory), continuing via the historic gold mining town of Pine Creek. Today you will be personally met at your hotel by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred to Darwin Wharf to begin your cruise. Board the ship at 8:00am and depart Darwin at 9:00am. Immersed in the mystical aura of Jar Island, see the remarkable Gwion Gwion (Bradshaw) Aboriginal rock art galleries estimated to be up to 20,000 years old. Day 9 Wollaston Bay, Swift Bay or the Mitchell Falls

Prepare to be captivated by the spectacular beauty of the Mitchell Falls, as it cascades down the Mitchell Plateau in a breathtaking display – a truly iconic emblem of the Kimberley. The emerald green rock pools and gushing waterfalls create a mesmerising sight. Day 11 Prince Regent River and King Cascades

Today, discover the enchanting beauty of the King Cascades, a Kimberley gem that defies description. As its waters cascade down the terraced expanse of Kimberley sandstone, a vivid tapestry of ochre-hued and blackened rock comes to life. Lush grasses, mosses, and ferns create a magnificent hanging garden - breathing life into the rocky canvas. We journey along the steep-sided Prince Regent River - a remarkable anomaly that runs dead straight along a fault line. Nearby, Careening Bay holds a special piece of history. Here, Lt. Phillip Parker King sought refuge for his vessel, the HMC Mermaid. Stranded for 17 days, the ship's carpenter etched "HMC Mermaid 1820" into the bottle-shaped trunk of a boab tree near the beach. Two centuries later, the iconic Mermaid Boab Tree is now listed on the National Register of Big Trees and retains the carpenter's inscription.

Day 16 Arrive in Broome

Disembark today in Broome at 08:00am and spend the day exploring the town. Broome is the western gateway to the spectacular Kimberley region. This historic pearling town sits on the western edge of the vast and remote Kimberley region and is the largest town in Australia's ruggedly beautiful northwest. Broome exudes a laid-back ambience and is home to several historic buildings including The Sun Picture Theatre which is the world's oldest operational open-air theatre.
