Here we'll encounter London at its most authentic, where every step reveals the captivating stories of this historically significant and increasingly cool neighbourhood. The tales heard here are not of kings and castles, but of the ordinary people who made the East End extraordinary – the cockneys, barrow-boys and waves of immigrants. We stroll along the gritty cobbled streets that weave dramatic stories of infamous characters from centuries past. We reveal narrow backstreets that share their secrets, we witness the boundless creativity of contemporary East Enders in the colourful street art and discover Brick Lane. Today we make our way to the English Channel for a crossing to France before journeying through the French countryside to Paris, arriving in the ‘City of Love’ in the afternoon.

Today we say au revoir Paris, as we travel to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, ranking among the world's top nations for both wealth and wine consumption. The fairy-tale capital, Luxembourg City, is perched on a dramatic clifftop and home to the Grand Ducal Palace. See the remarkable medieval castles on Luxembourg’s rolling forested hills complimented by strings of quaint villages. Enjoy some free time to explore the splendid capital of one of Europe’s smallest countries.

This afternoon we journey through the incredible German countryside to the Rhine Valley, famous for its medieval castles perched high above the river and steep fields of wine-producing grapes. The Rhine Valley’s soaring clifftop fortresses and near vertical terraced vineyards have inspired fables, fairy tales, paintings and poetry for centuries. Step aboard our Rhine valley cruise vessel to experience the true beauty of the valley. Today travel through Bavaria to Nuremberg, with incredible architecture, painstakingly restored using original stone after the bombings of the Second World War. Famous for its art, architecture, cobbled lanes and ancient chapels, this is also home to some of Europe’s finest beer. DAY 12 Vienna to Bratislava (Slovakia) to Budapest (Hungary)

Today we leave Austria and head to Slovakia, to visit its capital Bratislava. We take a tour of this medieval and Gothic city, including a stop at the famous Bratislava Castle, high on the hill. Charm abounds in this intriguing city, set on the banks of the Danube River. The alluring pedestrian old town is a mosaic of winding cobbled streets adorned with medieval and gothic churches, baroque palaces and quirky cafes.

We continue to Hungary and to its spectacular imperial capital of Budapest – the grand city on the Danube. It has something for everyone – from dramatic history and flamboyant architecture to healing thermal waters and a vibrant cultural scene that is unrivalled in eastern Europe.

The towns of Buda and Pest on either side of the Danube became a single city in 1873 and is now one of Europe's most important cities. Architecturally, the city is a treasure trove, with baroque, neoclassical, eclectic and art nouveau buildings in abundance. Testament to the city’s cool urban vibe is its unique ‘ruin bars’, where dilapidated buildings have been reinvented into quirky watering holes complete with reclaimed furniture mixed with modern local art. Budapest is blessed with an abundance of hot springs and ‘taking the waters’ has been popular here since the time of the Romans, in one of the many bathhouses.

Your tour of Budapest starts on the Pest side of the Danube, then head across the river to the Buda side to stop at the Fisherman’s Bastion for spectacular views of the city and the river below. See the Houses of Parliament and drive along the river admiring the city. Experience the incredible views from atop Gellert Hill and the Citadel, stop at Heroes Square and admire St Stephen's Basilica, the State Opera and the castle district.

Today we continue our soul stirring journey through Hungry, stopping to admire Europe’s largest lake – the alluring Lake Balaton. Soak up the vibrant turquoise waters and verdant scenery – a spellbinding lakeside scene. From here we continue south west towards Slovenia and it’s leafy, elegant capital of Ljubljana. Today we set off through the enchanting Slovenian countryside to Venice, a city built on more than 100 small islands that are lined with splendid Renaissance and Gothic palaces. It has no roads, just canals like the famous Grand Canal. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s famous red roofs.

DAY 16 Venice to Florence to Tuscany

Travel to the spectacular Tuscany region. From ever enchanting Florence to the olive groves and vineyards of Chianti, Tuscany is the essence of old Italy. Today we head to the colourful southern end of the Italian Riviera, to Cinque Terre. Amidst the spectacular coastal scenery and charming postcard villages of the Italian Riviera, Cinque Terre’s colourful houses and vineyards cling to steep terraces along some of the most dramatic coastal scenery on the planet. Made up of five ingeniously constructed fishing villages, harbours are filled with fishing boats and trattorias turn out seafood specialties along with the Liguria region’s famous sauce, pesto. These five picturesque coastal cliff-side villages have no vehicles and are linked by rail and footpath. DAY 33 Explore Santorini (Greek Islands)

The Greek Islands ignite the imagination and satisfy the soul with picture-perfect hillside villages that hug glistening azure waters and are laced in history and mythical tales. Today will be another highlight of your incredible trip, starting early in the morning, it's hard not to be awed by the sheer cliffs that soar above a turquoise sea as you sail into the spectacular caldera of Santoríni. Famous the world over for its staggering beauty, witness the iconic whitewashed houses and alleyways of Santori. Clinging to the islands multicoloured cliffs, these striking white and blue labyrinths overlook the underwater volcanic crater that shaped Santori’s trademark landscape. Renowned for its dazzling ocean panoramas, fine wine served in tavernas hugging the cliffs and striking volcanic-sand beaches - Santorini's views will stop you in your tracks and you'll get great glimpses into how A-listers travel.

Santorini will also surprise you. Perhaps visit a cool microbrewery or a wine cavern adorned with artworks or experience a cooking demonstration that celebrates Santorini’s growing foodie culture. DAY 35 Explore Naples, Amalfi Coast, Sorrento & Pompeii (Italy)

This afternoon Naples, the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento, Pompeii and Capri awaits – it doesn’t get any more Italian. Naples is authentic, high-octane energy, a place of soul-stirring art and unimaginable panoramas. This alluring city abounds in creativity, architecture, history, legends, shopping and glorious food. It’s a heady mix of modern vitality and a palpable 2nd millennium B.C. history that permeates every edgy alleyway with the dormant Mount Vesuvius volcano providing a picture-postcard backdrop. Explore the vibrant historical centre set around an incredible harbour bay, discover architectural landmarks, masterpiece artworks, and sumptuous food.

The Amalfi Coast dazzles with its iridescent coloured grottos where mountains plunge into the sea in a nail-biting vertical scene of precipitous crags. Seemingly endless picture-perfect turquoise seas and cinematic piazzas with pastel-coloured cascades of villages abound. The stunning coastal town of Sorrento is at the western gateway to the Amalfi. This truly romantic and handsome clifftop destination was a compulsory stop on the 19th-century 'Grand Tour'. Still today it’s renowned for it’s high-pedigree hotels amid plunging cliffs that cut through the heart of the historical core.

Pompeii is Europe's most compelling archaeological site. This ancient Roman city was buried under pumice and ash during the Mount Vesuvius volcanic eruption of 79 AD. Today, Pompeii looks frozen in time, offering glimpses of fossilised communities, preserved baths, crumbling columns and fabulous frescoes. Pompeii, set against the majestic (and now dormant) Mount Vesuvius, is the only archaeological site in the world that provides a complete picture of an ancient Roman city.
