DAY 2 Arrive in London

Make the most of your second flexi-tour today. This is a great day to take your Thames River cruise. Your cruise through the heart of the River Thames takes you from Westminster past an array of amazing landmarks to St. Katharine’s Pier with more entertaining commentary from your captain.

Perhaps also visit the King’s royal residence of Buckingham Palace, see Poets’ Corner and the Coronation Chair at Westminster Abbey, take a flight in one of the famous glass pods on the London Eye, climb the breathtaking heights of St Paul’s Cathedral’s domed galleries, soak in the exceptional view from the ultra-modern Shard building or test your nerves at the formidable Tower of London.

If shopping is your thing, then spend the day on famous Oxford Street, wander trendy Kensington High Street, browse the upmarket boutiques of Bond Street and Mayfair or shop the British gent look on Jermyn Street. DAY 5 London to Stonehenge to Bath

Today we depart London heading through the rolling beautiful English countryside to Wiltshire and Stonehenge. This iconic symbol of Britain has a history spanning 4,500 years and has many different meanings to people today. It is a wonder of the world, a spiritual place and a source of inspiration. Get an insight into Neolithic life during 2950 BC. Here you have the option to walk around the sacred Stone Circle.

We continue to splendid Bath in Somerset, well known for its ancient Roman era natural hot spring water baths (built in 60 AD) that are still operating today. You’ll also fall in love with Bath's stunning honey-coloured Georgian architecture that is straight from a Jane Austen novel - highlights include the iconic Royal Crescent and the majestic Circus. Here you have the option of exploring this architecturally magnificent town or perhaps choose to enter the Roman Baths complex.

This evening we enjoy a special Welcome Dinner of traditional British cuisine.

Day 6 Bath to Stratford-upon-Avon to Liverpool

This morning we farewell Bath on our way to Stratford-upon-Avon, a medieval market town that was the 16th-century home of William Shakespeare. Nestled amidst charming cobblestone streets and picture-book half-timbered houses, this traditional English gem pulses with literary antiquity and timeless allure. It could be straight out of a fairytale. Immerse yourself in 800 years of history, see the many buildings that would be familiar to Shakespeare if he was still around today. Enjoy free time to stroll the historic streets looking for that special venue for a memorable Stratford-upon-Avon lunch.

Continue north to Liverpool, famous for the Beatles and its two high flying soccer clubs. Dive into the dynamic heart of this spirited city, where rich maritime heritage meets a thriving cultural scene. Discover its historic grand architecture and the Liverpudlian’s pure lust for life. See the iconic sights on a tour of the city and enjoy free time for the rest of the day. Perhaps rediscover your groove at the Beatles Museum and later head to Mathew Street and the world-famous ‘Cavern Club’ (where The Beatles first made their mark on modern music) or savour the lively buzz of the waterfront pubs.

Day 7 Liverpool to Lake District to Edinburgh (Scotland)

Our journey continues this morning, north through rolling hills and dramatic countryside, where the scenery becomes more wild and beautiful with every mile. Stop in picture-perfect Windermere, where stone cottages, leafy lanes and lake views offer a taste of timeless village life. Enjoy free time for a stroll past ivy-draped cottages and charming shopfronts, or pause to admire the serene lake vistas and feel the gentle rhythm of village life. From here, continue through the Lake District, an ancient natural masterpiece with its wind-ruffled lakes, dramatic peaks, majestic fells, and poetic inspiration that has stirred artists and writers for centuries. Our journey through the Lake District offers us the time to soak in the beauty of this iconic English landscape. We then continue into Scotland on our way to the majestic city of Edinburgh.

From the enchanting, storybook-like streets of Edinburgh to the untamed, windswept grandeur of the Highlands, Scotland beckons with timeless tales and awe-inspiring natural wonders. Here, age-old castles command emerald hills, and vibrant cityscapes harmoniously blend the traditions of tweed and bagpipes with contemporary avant-garde culture. Savour a dram of single-malt whiskey, and you'll be transported to the very heart of this mythical land, where mist-cloaked lochs, windswept moors, and sun-dappled glens paint a vivid tapestry of captivating beauty and tradition.

Day 9 Edinburgh to Yorkshire (England)

Today we say goodbye to Scotland and make our way back to England. We pause enroute to visit the striking Angel of the North, a towering steel sculpture with vast wings that stretch across the sky, standing sentinel over the northern landscape. Its commanding presence offers a moment of reflection and an unforgettable stop before we journey south.

We continue into Yorkshire and the ancient fairytale town of York with its stunning blend of Roman, Viking and medieval heritage. Marvel at the awe-inspiring York Minster (one of Europe’s finest Gothic cathedrals), admire the well-preserved city walls and explore the Shambles (a captivating narrow laneway straight out of a storybook). We enjoy some free time here to explore – perhaps discover the city’s most famous sites, including the impressive York Minster and winding cobbled streets lined with little boutiques and traditional shops selling all manner of fascinating items. We all enjoy a traditional Yorkshire pub dinner tonight.

Day 10 Yorkshire to London

This morning we enjoy a breathtaking drive through rolling green English countryside to the magnificent Burghley House, one of England’s grandest Elizabethan manor houses.

This breathtaking 16th-century masterpiece from the Tudor-era, stands as one of England’s most magnificent country estates. Picture a sprawling palace, its golden stone towers and ornate interiors whispering tales of royalty, intrigue and lavish feasts from the days of Queen Elizabeth I. Wander through opulent rooms adorned with priceless art, stroll grand manicured gardens and feel history come alive in every grand hallway. Burghley House offers an unforgettable journey into a real-life Downton Abbey, blending timeless elegance with captivating aristocratic stories.
