DAY 14 Saigon to My Tho to Mekong Delta to Saigon

Today we travel to My Tho - a serene city, where the gentle flow of the Mekong River weaves tales of centuries past and local people produce coconut candy and rice paper. In the middle of the river, the lush greenery of Thoi Son Islet invites reflection amidst its orchards and traditional villages. My Tho's charm lies not just in its scenic beauty but in the warmth of its people, providing the essential essence of the Mekong's timeless appeal.

Upon arrival, we board a boat for a splendid cruise along the majestic Mekong River, admiring the daily lives of local communities lining its banks. A stop at a nearby island treats us to an array of fresh tropical fruits in the heart of a lush garden accompanied by traditional southern Vietnamese folk music. We then step into smaller boats rowed by locals through picturesque canals shaded by water coconut trees. Visit local workshops to sip honey tea, witness the production of coconut candy milk and stroll through gardens where locals tend to honeybees, providing a charming glimpse into their daily life.

A delightful lunch awaits at a local restaurant by the river - before we continue our exploration of the fascinating Mekong Delta region with a visit to Vinh Trang Pagoda, a famed temple that beautifully blends Chinese, Cambodian, and French architectural influences.
